Work opportunities with Busy Living After School Team (BLAST)

We are regularly looking for staff across our out of school club locations, for term-time work, holiday work or both. If you have a background in childcare and would like to be part of our dynamic team we are keen to hear from you. We have various roles available and a short summary of these are shown here.

Holiday clubs run at Bearbrook Combined School and St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.

Breakfast and/or After School Club Manager

You will need to have either a Level 2 or, preferably, a Level 3 qualification in Early Years childcare or Playwork. We are looking for Managers who, as well as being great with the children, can communicate well with parents and staff. As Manager, you will organise the team and delegate to them, and you will also handle the administration. Our Breakfast Clubs run from 07:20am or 07:30am and the After School Clubs until 6:00pm. Optional Holiday Club work is also available with flexible days/hours of work.

Holiday Club Manager

Early Years qualification at minimum Level 3 is required. We are looking for people with a lot of energy and enthusiasm who will inspire a team with diverse levels of experience to give the children a memorable and enjoyable time. You will lead the team to offer a range of activities, games, trips and third party guest spots. Flexible days/hours are available during every school holiday except Christmas/New Year. The Holiday Clubs run from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

Playworker

We want enthusiastic Playworkers to work at our Breakfast and After School Clubs during term-time and/or at our Holiday Clubs. We are looking for staff who have a sense of fun and like working in a busy and dynamic environment. You are creative and enjoy organising activities and sports with the children. We can offer flexible days for working at our Breakfast and After School Clubs and flexible days/hours at our Holiday Clubs. Early Years childcare qualification at Level 2 is desirable.

Trainee Childcarer or Student

If you do not currently have a childcare qualification but want to work towards one, get in touch with us. We have the opportunity of applying for bursary funding and training to get you on to your childcare career. We also have vacancies during the holidays for students.
